Verizon Wireless announces Salute from ZTE

Verizon Wireless recently announced a new handset from Chinese manufacturer ZTE, the Salute. This lightweight and slim slider handset will be able to deliver up to 4 hours of talk time and up to 220 hours of standby time on a single charge. Features are pretty rudimentary, making this an ideal everyday phone that you won’t mind dropping or losing (apart from retaining all your contacts and messages, but that’s something Verizon’s Backup Assistant application can help) since it is dirt cheap. You will find a 1.3-megapixel camera, speakerphone and Bluetooth connectivity accompanied by a large 2.4-inch display and a slew of messaging options such as text, picture and voice messaging, Mobile Email, Mobile Web Email, and Chat capable. Expect to pick one up for $19.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate and signing your soul off for a new two-year customer agreement.
